For children between three and five there is a group preparing them for attending school. It is led by a voluntary collaborator together with a team of experienced youths.
In this group the children are prepared for their later school attendance. Here they learn how to deal with paper and a pen. Many of these children have not been used to sitting still for a certain time because often they do not have tables and chairs at home.
In their families they speak Romanes or Turkish. So the children have to learn Bulgarian as well if they want to be able to follow the lessons in school.
To make it easier for the families to send their children to this group, they meet directly in the ghetto. The mothers, in particular, are very interested in their children being part of this group.
